Auchendarroch House is situated just 20 minutes up the Freeway in the Adelaide Hills. Auchendarroch House was built in 1860, and the name “Auchendarroch” is a Scottish-Gaelic term which means the holy place of the oaks. The Wallis Family purchased the house in 2000, but it sustained considerable damages by vandals when it was left vacant. The Wallis Family made a substantial financial commitment to return the Auchendarroch House to its earlier grandeur and opened it in 2003.

● The Ballroom
The Majestic Ballroom is situated inside the Auchendarroch House and is decorated with William Morris wallpaper from the 1880s. The Ballroom features the majestic ancient fireplace and leadlight windows. The stunning and elegant Joanna’s Room is connected to the Ballroom, ideal for bridal dance. It can accommodate up to 45 guests seated or 80 guests for cocktail style.
● Robert Charles Room
Robert Charles Room is an old-style yet modern room with floor to ceiling glass that offers stunning views of the Gardens of Auchendarroch House. This room features Swarovski crystal lighting, a fireplace, and bi-fold doors open to the lovely outside. The connecting Barr Smith Billiard Room featuring William Morris wallpaper with lavish drapes and curtains creates the ideal setting for your bridal party and photos that leave a permanent impression. It has a seated capacity of 130 and a standing capacity of 180 guests.
● The Gardens
You can also consider hosting your wedding ceremony in the award-winning Gardens of Auchendarroch House, either in the ancient Rose Garden or under the old oak tree. You can book one of the function rooms should the weather be unfavourable for your ceremony. The Gardens can accommodate up to 32 guests and provides beautiful wedding photo opportunities.
