Noorilim Estate

Noorilim Estate is near Murchison, a small riverside rural village on the Goulburn River in Victoria, Australia. About 90 minutes' drive north of Melbourne, this Estate is one of the finest examples of Italianate architecture in Australia and was built by the architect James Gall for William Irving Winter, later William Irving Winter-Irving, a wealthy pastoralist and member of the Victorian Legislative Council for the Northern Province (1884-1901).
It is perhaps the sufficient work of architect James Gall who also designed Mintaro at Monegeetta and Frognall at Canterbury, both in Victoria. Noorilim gets its name from the local Ngurai-illam Aboriginal tribe and supposedly translates to 'many lagoons' as the area was a natural flood plain of the lower Goulburn River the Goulburn Weir completed in 1891. It is one of the top 90 Historic Gardens recognized by the Victorian Government.

It also features Minton tiles, marble fireplaces, and ten bedrooms.

The beautiful township of Nagambie is just 17 km south of Noorilim Estate and has accommodation options for weddings. They include Heritage-listed Thornbridge, which was built in 1868. The Victorian-era accommodation has a furnishing of Victorian antiques and adornment of magnificent lighting. It sits on 8 acres of river flats adjoining the Goulburn River with beautiful Victorian gardens. Each queen room offers luxury, space, privacy, quality linen, and fluffy soft pillows. Your guests would also enjoy the Lounge with open fire, cat tearoom, and balcony (not ideal in June but glorious in warmer weather). The large bathroom with a decent bath and a basin set up higher than average would complete the excellent experience. Provisions include many Twinings tea, coffee pod machine, coffee bags, and hot chocolate and Macaroons.
