About Hugs and Chrises
Hugs and Chrises is a marriage celebrancy firm based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Chris Dougherty is the owner and authorised marriage celebrant of the firm. He chose the profession three years ago as he felt there were not many male wedding celebrants in the state. He offers his services in Brisbane and South East Queensland, and beyond.
Chris started as a marriage celebrant three years ago to fill the void felt by wedding couples of the absence of a male wedding celebrant in Queensland. Since then, he has loved his job and, what is more, excelling in it. He has taken to the role of a duck to water. He feels that one of the most important things for wedding couples is relaxing and not getting stressed out. So, he makes relaxing wedding couples his first task, which he does magnificently as he is fun-loving and joyful. He also loves travel and would be delighted to travel even overseas to officiate at a wedding.
Chris is evolving his services and has been improving day by day:
· He offers three ceremonies – personalised, short and sweet and legals only packages
· The packages include ceremony, meetings, vows, readings and legal documentation plus travel subject to conditions for each package
· He also offers MC services
· He has a network of other service providers who he can recommend
Chris likes to start with a blank canvas and fill it up with events, anecdotes, stories that add value to the personalisation plan for the wedding couple’s all-important wedding day. He does this through his meetings and discussions with them. He finally creates a meaningful ceremony that is hard for the wedding couple to refuse.
