About Ekhidna Wines
Ekhidna Wines is set among the serene Shiraz vineyard, owned by Matt Rechner. He operated for two years together with Darryl Groom, the former Penfolds senior white and red winemaker, and the 1986 Penfolds Grange founder. Matt decided to start his winery and produced the first vintage of the wine he is best known for, the Linchpin. Ekhidna Wines is a Restaurant and Cellar Door with picturesque views over the McLaren Vale landscape, and its function areas provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony with views of the southern Mt Lofty Ranges. Ekhidna Wines was voted Top 20 wedding venues in South Australia, ABIA wedding venue finalist in 2019, and many more.
Ekhidna Wines have three different indoor and outdoor areas, and these can be specially decorated for couples. The spaces can be combined with different combinations and can host guests from 30 to 200 people.
● Restaurant: The Ekhidna Wines Restaurant provides one of the unique dining experiences in the Fleurieu Peninsula. It features a floor to ceiling windows. The restaurant offers a comfortable, warm and sophisticated wedding experience that lasts a lifetime.
● Cellar Door: The Cellar Door is a versatile space with uninterrupted views of the vines and beyond through a wall of glass.
● The Courtyard: The Courtyard is an outdoor area that offers a unique painting where you will be intertwined with the beauty of nature; also, it provides the perfect background for photo opportunities. Enjoy your wedding in a stunning vineyard setting. If couples want to hold a ceremony in The Courtyard, they can host up to 500 guests.
