About National Wine Centre of Australia
National Wine Centre is situated 3 km away from the city centre, located at the eastern end of the North Terrace, Adelaide. It was planned by Cox Grieve Gillet to use building resources to showcase items used in producing wine. The outside of the building looks like a part of a wine barrel with rows of grapevines showing seven diverse selections of grapes to interested visitors.
National Wine Centre is a public exhibition building about producing wine whose industry in South Australia. It won the 2018 & 2019 restaurant and catering awards, wedding caterer of the year, South Australia and 2018 restaurant and catering awards, silver wedding caterer of the year, National.
The National Wine Centre is the ideal venue for wedding ceremonies and reception from intimate celebrations to an exclusive gathering; it also has an abundance of natural light for beautiful photographs. It is the ideal venue for couples that loves stylish wedding setting.
National Wine Centre offers six unique function spaces. Its flexibility and variety of room options provide the benefit of decorating it to suit your taste. The functional areas and their capacities are:
• Hickinbotham Hall
Hickinbotham Hall features include lifted cathedral-like architecture with its 23 metres high, acoustic, decorative wooden ceiling, audiovisual systems, and an abundance of natural light. This jarrah-floored venue provides a natural feel, with stricken earth walls and wooden furnishings. It can hold 500 guests (cocktail-style), 300 guests on round tables, and 290 guests with its wide dance floor. The Hickinbotham Hall was named after a family that made a massive input to the Australian wine industry.
• The Gallery
The Gallery is a flexible space with an abundance of natural light, featuring a balcony that provides a panoramic view of the Botanic Garden below. It is a contemporary setting that can be preferred by couples who look for a more modern look. It can hold up to 50 to 120 guests, depending on your preferences regarding the style of the reception.
• The Exhibition Hall
The Exhibition Hall features include wooden flooring, a lively exhibition of wine collectibles, and a barrel feature wall. It provides a winery setting that can hold 160 guests (seated) or 150 guests with a dance floor, making it the perfect venue for your wedding celebration and reception. The Exhibition Hall is ideal for stylish receptions.
• Ferguson and Broughton Rooms
The Ferguson and Broughton room is the ideal venue for intimate weddings with a small crowd of guests. Each room has the maximum capacity to hold 50 guests. The rooms can also be opened to form one expansive space that can hold up to 100 guests.
• The Vines
The vines provide a venue with an abundance of natural light that opens up to the open-air terrace where your guests have access to the Centre's lush grassed area and Botanic Garden surrounding. It can cater to 100 guests in a cocktail setting and 50 to 80 guests for dinner events.
